Biography

Karl Fredrick M. Castro

b. 1986, Angono, Rizal, Philippines

 

Karl Fredrick M. Castro studied Visual Arts at the Philippine High School for the Arts, and completed his cinema studies at the University of the Philippines Film Institute. His body of work straddles the fields of art, cinema, and design, with a view of their interaction with history and social consciousness. As a graphic designer, his focus is on identity and editorial design, working with university presses, cultural institutions, and independent writers and filmmakers. He has won numerous awards for his design work, including two Philippine National Book Awards.
