Silverlens will be participating in the third edition of Art Fair Philippines. Works from over 30 artists will be featured on rotation at Booth 24, Level 6.
Silverlens will be showcasing the works of VINCENT LEONG, WAWI NAVARROZA and GARY-ROSS PASTRANA at Art Stage Singapore's Southeast Asia Platform.
The show's six exhibition sectors are designed to present an exceptional selection of works, including museum-quality pieces by proven masters and new artworks by emerging artists. Additional exhibitions and events, timed to coincide with Art Basel's Hong Kong debut, will take place across the city’s thriving gallery scene and in its growing array of cultural institutions.
As in last year, Silverlens has a packed booth at the fair and will be presenting works from the following artists. Not everything will be installed all at once, with rehangs occurring at the end of every day, to encourage guests to come back repeatedly.

Some Are Smarter Than Others*
12 September 2014 - 16 November 2014
Gasworks presents Some Are Smarter Than Others*, the first major UK solo exhibition by London-based, Filipino artist Pio Abad.
Abad employs strategies of appropriation to reveal the social and political implications of objects usually consigned to the sidelines of history. Using inexpensive reproduction techniques that contrast with the opulent origins of the objects he replicates, his recent work has drawn attention to the role that certain artefacts have played or been made to perform in the recent history of the Philippines. Continuing this line of enquiry, Some Are Smarter Than Others looks at the cultural legacy of former Filipino dictators Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos: from the post-colonial mythology they promoted in public to the extravagant collections they surreptitiously amassed during their years in power.
Free, with limited spaces available. Registration required.
Join Gael Newton, Senior Curator of Photography at the National Gallery of Australia, and artists John Clang, Wawi Navarroza, Gary-Ross Pastrana and Yee I-Lann as they speak about photography in Southeast Asia with AfterImage co-curators Alexander Supartono and Sam I-shan.
